California transfer options

Complete general education requirements

California community college students who complete one of the following credit blocks (certified by the community college) with a minimum GPA of 2.00 will fulfill the lower-division ASU General Studies requirement. ASU requires all courses to be completed with a grade of ā€œCā€ or better.

  • The Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC), plus an additional lab science course. Students are required to complete the upper-division General Studies requirement after transfer to ASU. View IGETC (PDF).
  • The California State University General Education Pattern (CSUGE), plus an additional lab science and English composition course. Students are required to complete the upper-division General Studies requirement after transferring to ASU. View CSUGE (PDF).

Transfer lower-division program coursework AND general education courses

In addition to completing the IGETC or CSUGE to meet general education requirements (see section above), California students can complete some of lower-division courses and apply them to their ASU bachelor's degree.
