Admission Requirements
Transfer students must meet the following requirements for admission to ASU.
Transfer applicants must meet at least one of the following:
- Be a high school graduate.
- Complete an Arizona General Education Curriculum (AGEC) at an accredited Arizona community college.
- Complete an associate degree or higher.
GPA Requirement
Transferring with 24 credit hours or more:
- Arizona residents: 2.00.
- Nonresidents: 2.50 (2.00-2.49 considered).
Transferring with fewer than 24 credit hours:
- Arizona residents: 2.00.
- Nonresidents: 2.50 (2.00-2.49 considered).
AND
Grade point average (GPA) is calculated on a 4-point scale, with an A equal to 4.0.
Conditional Admissions for International Students
Effective fall semester 2010, Arizona State University Undergraduate Admissions will introduce a new admission category of Conditional International Admission. Conditional Admission may be granted to international students who are fully qualified academically to attend ASU, but lack sufficient English language skills to matriculate in courses. If admitted conditionally, students will be required to register for and successfully complete a designated course of study in ASU's American English and Culture Program (AECP) or to meet the English Language Proficiency requirements as stated on the ASU admissions website prior to matriculating in regular ASU courses.

TRANSFER APPLICATION DATES
We encourage students to submit their application and supporting materials by the dates below, as some ASU colleges and schools may limit admissions past these dates. However, materials received after these preferential dates will be considered, so please complete the steps to apply.
Winter 2009 session: December 1, 2009
Spring 2010 semester: December 1, 2009
Summer 2010 session: March 1, 2010
Fall 2010 semester: June 1, 2010
Note that after the first day of a semester, approvals for that semester's application and admission will be handled by exception only. Please contact the Director of Transfer Admissions, Lori Brown, at 480-965-8138.
Application Procedure
- Complete the admission application.
- Submit the nonrefundable application fee:
- Arizona residents: $25. Starting Summer 2010: $50.
- Nonresidents, online, international: $55. Starting Summer 2010: $65.
- Request to have your official transcript(s) mailed directly from your school(s) to transfer admissions at the address listed below. It must be a certified copy.
- If you have completed an associate degree or higher, please request official transcripts from all institutions you have attended (post–high school course work).
- If you have not completed an associate degree or higher, please request your official high school transcript showing proof of graduation, in addition to transcripts from all institutions you have previously attended or currently are attending (post–high school course work).
- Upon graduation or completion of your final semester at your current institution, request that a complete transcript be sent directly to ASU to determine final admission status. Receipt of your final transcript impacts financial aid disbursement and eligibility to register for future classes.
